It’s supposed to push up into the 90s here this week and, while that’s not really all that hot by the rest of the country’s standards, we Pacific Northwest folks have a hard time with anything slightly warmer than 76.3 degrees (or colder than 40 for that matter). What can I say, we’re weather snobs.

Fortunately, Sarah and I were given, kind of as a joke, an inflatable backyard swimming pool by her coworkers back before we got married. We’ve never really needed to use it, so it’s sat in-box in the garage for the last 7+ years. Finally yesterday I busted it out, plugged in the shop vac and, PRESTO, backyard pool. It’s actually quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be as you can see in the pics below.

Joel’s comments upon seeing the pool:

Me: Joel, what is that?
Joel: It’s a pool! It is soooo big!

Yeah, 90 degress is just barely too warm for this are of the country (CA), but we’ve also got air conditioning in every building we enter…including our home which stays at a comfortable 78 degrees.
